North Hertfordshire Council has granted SJM Concerts, the promoter behind Oasis's 2025 reunion tour, a premises licence to host events at Knebworth House, taking effect just days before the 30th anniversary of the band's legendary 1996 concerts there. The indefinite licence raises the possibility of future large-scale shows at the venue, though neither SJM Concerts nor Knebworth House has confirmed specific plans, and it comes as speculation continues over whether Oasis might return to mark the anniversary.

The licence permits events for up to 125,000 people, with live music and dance performances allowed until 03:00. More than 4% of the UK population applied for tickets when Oasis played Knebworth on 10 and 11 August 1996, and the venue's owner, Henry Lytton Cobbold, said in 2024 he hoped the band would return for a 30th anniversary show, though this has since been ruled out. Knebworth has also hosted acts including Queen, Robbie Williams, Sir Paul McCartney and Metallica, and this weekend also marks 40 years since Freddie Mercury's final performance there with Queen.
