## Summary

Horror director Curry Barker says he would like to make an R-rated Indiana Jones film if the opportunity arose, imagining a darker, more intense adventure than the series’ family-friendly outings. He and longtime collaborator Cooper Tomlinson are interested in pushing the adventure genre’s boundaries while keeping its characters and story grounded.

Tomlinson has also spoken about reviving the adventure epics popular in the 1980s and 1990s. Meanwhile, Michael Johnston, who played Bear in Barker’s film Obsession, has joined the cast of The Mummy: Book of the Dead, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz; it is scheduled for release on 15 October 2027. Barker’s horror-comedy Anything But Ghosts is due in May next year.
