Inde Navarrette, who starred in Obsession, has said she would like to play the shapeshifting mutant Mystique after meeting Jake Schreier, the director attached to Marvel Studios’ forthcoming X-Men film. The meeting has prompted speculation about a possible MCU role, although neither Marvel nor Navarrette has confirmed that she has been cast or discussed a specific character.

Navarrette identified Mystique as a character she has always found “super cool”. Mystique was previously played by Rebecca Romijn in the original X-Men films and Jennifer Lawrence in the later prequel series; Schreier previously directed Thunderbolts* and is developing Marvel’s new X-Men project.
