Oda beats GB’s Hewett in Wimbledon singles final
Japan's Tokito Oda beat Great Britain's Alfie Hewett 6-1 6-1 on Court One to claim his third Wimbledon men's wheelchair singles title. The number one seed and defending champion dominated the final, extending his streak to a sixth successive Grand Slam singles title and continuing his run of remaining unbeaten at the majors since losing to Hewett in the 2025 Australian Open final.
The 20-year-old has now won three of 2026's Grand Slams and drawn level with Hewett on 10 career Grand Slam singles titles, placing them joint-second on the all-time list behind Shingo Kunieda's 28. Hewett, the 2024 champion, struggled badly on serve with 10 double faults in the match and admitted he was "extremely disappointed", though he had won a seventh Wimbledon doubles title with Gordon Reid the previous day. In the quad singles, Niels Vink secured a fourth successive Wimbledon title, beating fellow Dutchman Sam Schroder 6-1 6-3.
