Actor Oded Fehr has confirmed he is reprising his role as Ardeth Bay in The Mummy 4, sharing a first look at the character via Instagram. The film marks the long-awaited return of the franchise's original core cast, including Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, nearly two decades after the last instalment, and Fehr's involvement is notable because he has previously said his character would only return if Imhotep, the series' central villain, was also part of the story.

Fehr posted the update on 4 August, pairing footage of Ardeth Bay from the original 1999 film with an image of the now 55-year-old actor in a makeup chair, sporting a short haircut, beard and his character's signature facial tattoos. Ardeth Bay appeared in The Mummy and 2001's The Mummy Returns but sat out 2008's Tomb of the Dragon Emperor due to the absence of Imhotep, fuelling speculation that the villain could feature in the new film. The Mummy 4, also starring John Hannah, is set for release on 15 October 2027, with Fraser recently telling Jimmy Fallon he was training to get back in shape for the role while staying tight-lipped on plot details.
