The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Sleep, the mobile sleep-tracking spin-off, will crossover with the anime series Pokémon Horizons, marking the game's first appearance in the show alongside a new in-game tie-in. The move highlights how the world's highest-grossing entertainment franchise, reportedly worth $115 billion in total revenue, continues to expand across its various media by folding lesser-known spin-off titles into its flagship animated series.

From next month, Pokémon Sleep players will be able to add Captain Pikachu, a character from Pokémon Horizons, to their in-game team, alongside other Pokémon featured in the show. Separately, a Pokémon Sleep-themed episode of the anime is set to air in Japan in August, introducing Professor Neroli, the mobile game's in-universe professor, voiced by Natsuki Hanae, best known as Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer. No international release date or English voice cast has yet been confirmed for the episode.
