The Promised Neverland is returning to Weekly Shonen Jump with a new 36-page one-shot chapter, set to appear in issue 39 (2026) on 24 August, as part of celebrations marking the manga's 10th anniversary. Created by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu, the horror fantasy series was a bestseller during its original 2016-2020 run, but its legacy was overshadowed by a widely criticised second anime season that rushed and altered the story's ending, drawing comparisons to the divisive final season of Game of Thrones.

The new one-shot, the fifth spin-off connected to the series, is set after the events of the original manga's conclusion. Shirai has previously said the ending was constrained by chapter length limits, suggesting this chapter could offer room to expand on it. The manga is published in English by Viz Media, while the anime adaptation remains available to stream on Crunchyroll.
