One-wheeled AI security robot could patrol your property
An Estonian startup called Rollo Robotics has unveiled 1Rollo, a one-wheeled AI-powered security robot designed to patrol large properties such as offices and other sites. The firm argues its slim, single-wheel design could offer a cheaper alternative to traditional security vehicles for monitoring extensive areas, potentially reshaping how commercial and industrial properties handle routine surveillance.
The robot follows pre-mapped routes while scanning its surroundings, and its AI system flags anything unusual to a human operator, who then decides whether to dispatch a security guard to investigate. 1Rollo currently exists only as a working prototype, with Rollo Robotics targeting a commercial launch in 2027, meaning its final design and specifications may still change before it reaches customers.
