A one-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a dog allegedly lunged at his pushchair and bit his face in Southampton. He suffered two small puncture wounds and grazes, while police investigate the circumstances of the incident.

The attack was reported at Shirley Precinct at about 3.20pm. Police are seeking a woman described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall and of large build, who was with a German Shepherd-type dog wearing a soft mesh muzzle; witnesses are asked to contact Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
