OpenAI has made ChatGPT Health available to all logged-in US users aged over 18, across its free and paid plans. The expansion allows people to use connected health information within ordinary ChatGPT conversations, but comes immediately after a lawsuit alleging that the chatbot gave dangerous advice and highlights continuing concerns over AI’s reliability for medical guidance.

The feature can connect with Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, medical-record systems including Epic and Oracle Health, and services such as One Medical. OpenAI says health-related questions have risen from 230 million to 300 million per week, with 70% asked outside the original health hub; it says users’ data is not used for training, while stressing that ChatGPT is not intended to diagnose or treat conditions. The rollout covers web and iOS users in the US this week.
