Opening half-hour of TNT Sports’ Premier League broadcasts to be shown on YouTube

The Guardian · 2 hours ago

TNT Sports will make the first 30 minutes of its live Premier League broadcasts freely available on YouTube this season, starting with Manchester United's trip to Hull City this Saturday. The pre-match show, EKO (Early Kick Off), had previously only aired on TNT Sports and HBO Max, so the move marks the first time this content has been offered free-to-air, as the broadcaster looks to widen its audience beyond paying subscribers.

Presented by Liam MacDevitt or Olivia Buzaglo, EKO will begin 90 minutes before kick-off and include early team news, released 75 minutes before matches, alongside pre-match analysis from pundits such as Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole. Unlike last season, when EKO only preceded Saturday lunchtime fixtures, it will now run before every TNT live game, including evening kick-offs. A Warner Bros Discovery Europe executive said the change aims to reach fans "off-platform" following heightened interest generated by the World Cup.
