Organic-looking brake assemblies debut on new Czinger 21C Spyder

Czinger has introduced its topology-optimised BrakeNode brake assembly on the new 21C Spyder, unveiled during Monterey Car Week. The integrated, 3D-printed component combines the caliper, suspension upright and hydraulic-fluid passages, illustrating how additive manufacturing could reduce vehicle weight while retaining performance and improving maintenance.

The BrakeNode is made from Czinger’s aluminium alloy and can cut unsprung mass by up to 30% against conventional brake assemblies; on the 21C Spyder, it saves a further 6 lb (2.7 kg). It is designed for simpler servicing, with accessible pads, outward-tilting rotors and no need to disconnect the caliper for brake changes. The parts are standard on the 30-unit Spyder, optional on 21C HDF and VMax models, and available as retrofits for existing 21Cs.
