Rather than following traditional album release practices involving promotional cycles and live performances, the music exists primarily as accompaniment to the television narrative, allowing the compositions to develop their own presence within the show's context as episodes premiere.

The compositional process differed fundamentally from Gartland's usual approach. Rather than writing from personal experience or emotional impulse, she received brief mood descriptions for each track—such as balancing uncertainty with hope—which served as creative starting points. She explains that these structural constraints, whilst initially seeming restrictive, actually facilitated her songwriting by narrowing the initial decision space.
