## Summary

The Oscar Micheaux Film and Media Institute plans to launch The Micheaux Roadshow 2027, a touring cinema programme for independent feature films and shorts. It aims to give filmmakers in-person screenings and audience engagement, drawing on Oscar Micheaux’s history of distributing his films independently.

The programme is due to begin in Los Angeles in April 2027, then travel across California, other US cities and selected international markets. Screenings will combine curated features and shorts with filmmaker Q&As and introductions to press and industry; films do not need prior festival selection. The Roadshow is a soft launch for the Institute, which is scheduled to open officially in 2028 and also runs the Micheaux Film Festival, established in 2018.
