Netflix has released the trailer and new photos for the fifth and final season of Outer Banks, revealing that the Pogues will seek vengeance following the major death of JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) in the season four finale. The final run sees the group, still reeling from the loss of their friend in Morocco, forced into a desperate fight for survival and freedom while facing familiar enemies, marking the conclusion of Netflix's popular teen treasure-hunt drama.

According to the official logline, the Pogues have lost the Blue Crown and are stranded far from home, contending with threats including Chandler Groff, Dalia and the Corsairs, and the Kooks, while forming an uneasy alliance with Rafe. The ten-episode final season will be released in full on 20 August on Netflix, and the cast, including Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey and Jonathan Daviss, will appear at a fan farewell event in Los Angeles on 15 August featuring the first-ever fan-voted Pogue Awards.
