## Key points

- Two Dublin exterminators face a supernatural threat.
- The film blends martial arts, comedy, horror and fantasy.
- Its Irish production used green hydrogen fuel cells.

## Summary

“Kung Fu Deadly” is a supernatural action comedy about Danny and Frank, two hapless Dublin exterminators who take on an otherworldly evil. The film combines martial arts, comedy, horror and fantasy, with director Fergal Costello aiming to bring those different tones together through the central pair’s friendship.

The project began as an idea about 20 years ago and underwent many drafts before writer Paddy McDonald rewrote it in Ireland, giving it a distinctly Irish voice. The production was Ireland’s first powered by green hydrogen fuel cells rather than diesel, and the film is expected to receive wider distribution this spring after a warm reception at genre festivals.
