## Summary

Ozzfest has started a countdown that is due to end at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, 5 November, raising expectations of a new announcement about the festival’s 2027 return. The reboot matters because the event has championed emerging metal acts and is set to return to both the United Kingdom and the United States.

The countdown follows cryptic social media posts, but no details of Thursday’s announcement have been confirmed. Sharon Osbourne said earlier this year she had discussed a revival with Live Nation; Ozzfest has since confirmed a Birmingham stop and US dates, its first there in nearly a decade. Launched in 1996, the festival last took place in 2018 as a one-day event in California.
