Birmingham has announced a programme of events to mark the first anniversary of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne's death, with the city set to hold its inaugural "Ozzy Day" on 22 July. The Birmingham City Council-led initiative will feature free live music, public art and performances celebrating the singer's life and his roots in the city, reflecting his enduring status as one of Birmingham's most prominent cultural figures.

Highlights include pop-up performances from the Bostin Brass band, who took part in Osbourne's funeral procession, and a lunchtime concert by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. The Birmingham Music Archive and OPUS will present tributes and short films, while a limited-edition T-shirt will be sold featuring an image from his farewell concert and a list of all 52 shows he played in the city. Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 aged 76, just 17 days after his all-star farewell show, Back to the Beginning, in his hometown; Black Sabbath were also granted Freedom of the City in June 2025.
