Serra collaborated with Molforts, a Catalan musical ensemble that regularly scores his films, orchestrating an unconventional creative process where the band composed instrumental pieces which Caven then layered with her own vocal interpretations, with the two parties engaging solely through the music itself rather than direct discussion.

Serra's directorial philosophy prioritises spontaneity and authenticity in performance, deliberately avoiding conventional documentary techniques like audience reactions or cutaways. The director frames live performance as inherently unrepeatable and fragile, comparing cinema's sequential nature to the permanence of witnessed moments—each frame a discrete experience that cannot be revisited once passed.
