- He posed online as a 17-year-old boy called “Miles”.
- Images of up to 30 unidentified girls were found on his devices.

## Summary

Syed Shahreear Ahmed, a 37-year-old maths teacher, was sentenced to a total of 25 years in custody for grooming and sexually abusing schoolgirls across Britain. The court said he had carried out a sustained, calculated campaign and remained a danger to the public; he will also serve eight years on licence.

Over four years, Ahmed used fake social media profiles and altered photographs to pose as a 17-year-old boy called “Miles”, targeting 18 vulnerable teenagers aged 13 to 16 and luring them with promises of gifts, money and relationships. A further 10-year term was added to the 15 years he was already serving, and detectives found images of 20 to 30 unidentified girls on his devices, raising concern that there may be more victims.
