Pakistani carer jailed for 12 years for raping bedbound Bristol woman

Daily Mail · 51 minutes ago

Fazli Qadeer, a 25-year-old Pakistani carer, was convicted of raping a bedbound woman in her seventies at her Bristol home. He denied the offence and claimed she had sexually assaulted him, but was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The court heard that Qadeer attacked the woman after learning her family would be away, and that he had told her he loved her and wanted to marry her. The victim described lasting trauma, including nightmares, fear and anxiety; a restraining order prevents Qadeer contacting her, while the Home Office is reviewing his immigration status.
