Cole Palmer is set to withdraw from England’s squad because of a minor injury, meaning he will miss four Nations League matches. Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is expected to replace him after narrowly missing out on the original selection.

Palmer, 24, had been recalled by manager Thomas Tuchel after being omitted from England’s World Cup squad. He played all of Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat by Brentford and has started six of their seven games this season, contributing four goals and two assists; Gibbs-White has one goal and two assists in five league appearances for Forest.
