Variety · 56 minutes ago

Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired North American rights to "Paradise Lost," the new mystery-thriller from Yeon Sang-ho, the director behind "Train to Busan" and "Hellbound." The deal comes ahead of the film's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), continuing a long-standing partnership between the distributor and the South Korean filmmaker, who previously worked with Well Go USA on "Train to Busan," "The Ugly" and "Colony."

The film, starring Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyeon-seong, centres on a mother whose young son vanishes along with a busload of children, only for him to return years later profoundly changed. It will premiere on 13 September at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre as part of TIFF's Special Presentations strand, marking Yeon's fourth appearance at the festival, before Well Go USA releases it in the US.
