Paramount+ Officially Saves Cancelled ‘90s Reboot Series
Paramount+ has revived a previously rejected Clueless sequel miniseries, with Alicia Silverstone returning as Cher Horowitz 30 years after the 1995 film. The project keeps the character at its centre rather than pursuing an earlier proposed spin-off, and reflects continuing interest in reviving well-known 1990s films for streaming audiences.
In the new series, Cher is a successful businesswoman raising a teenager of her own. Silverstone will also executive produce, alongside original writer-director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence; Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss will write and executive produce. The original Clueless, a modern retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma, was a major hit and previously led to a three-season television spin-off.
