Avatar Aang animated film confirmed for Paramount+ streaming on 25 July 2026

Collider · 8 hours ago

Paramount has officially confirmed that its animated film "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" will be released on 25 July 2026, accompanied by the film's first trailer. The announcement matters because the sequel has had a troubled run-up to release: it was pulled from cinemas in favour of a streaming-only debut, and it was later leaked online, with experts estimating that millions watched it before its official launch. The confirmed date follows Paramount+ Brazil's official account prematurely revealing that the film would arrive earlier than the previously expected October window.

The film will remain a Paramount+ streaming exclusive and will not screen in theatres. The news comes during a mixed year for "Avatar: The Last Airbender" fans: Netflix's live-action adaptation saw viewership fall by more than 50% from Season 1 to Season 2, though Season 3 has already been filmed and is not at risk of cancellation. Additionally, an ambitious role-playing game in development at Paramount Game Studios has reportedly been shelved indefinitely rather than fully cancelled.
