Paris Paloma tells crowd, “If you want to support artists, don’t use AI” on stage at Bilbao BBK Live 2026

Indie-folk singer-songwriter Paris Paloma used her set at Bilbao BBK Live 2026 to urge her audience to reject artificial intelligence and support human artists instead. Performing on the San Miguel stage on the festival's opening day, she introduced her recent single 'Miyazaki' — named after Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki — with a pointed statement declaring how much she values human artists and dislikes AI-generated art. Her comments add to a growing chorus of musicians publicly voicing concerns about AI's impact on creative work.

During the early-evening set she also criticised "Elon Musk, Andrew Tate and all those other losers" before playing 'Good Boy', a track addressing the "manosphere" that opens with a quote from actor Emma Thompson. Paloma is touring the UK and Europe in November and December in support of her second album 'The Fatal Flaw', due 4 September and following her 2024 debut 'Cacophony' and its viral hit 'Labour'; she has pledged to donate £1 from every tour ticket to the charity Plan International UK. Bilbao BBK Live 2026, marking the festival's 20th anniversary, runs until 11 July with sets from Robbie Williams, Lily Allen, IDLES, CMAT and others.
