## Key points

- Scott Parker has returned to West Ham as manager.
- He signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.
- He has won promotion with three Championship clubs.

## Summary

Scott Parker has returned to West Ham United as manager, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract to lead the club’s bid for promotion to the Premier League. The former captain has a record of taking three Championship sides into the top flight, making his appointment a clear signal of West Ham’s ambition to bounce back after relegation.

Parker replaces Nuno Espírito Santo, who left after back-to-back defeats with West Ham eighth in the Championship. Nuno had joined in September 2025 but could not prevent the club’s first relegation from the Premier League since 2011. Parker, 46, made 129 appearances for West Ham from 2007 to 2011 and secured promotion with Fulham in 2020, Bournemouth in 2022 and Burnley in 2025; he left Burnley by mutual consent in April after their relegation.
