## Summary

ESPN presenter Pat McAfee mocked Dr Anthony Fauci on his Thursday programme after Fauci repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment during a US Senate hearing. The segment drew attention because McAfee has considerable editorial freedom at ESPN and used a live sports-entertainment platform to comment on a politically charged event.

The article says Fauci pleaded the Fifth Amendment 111 times during the hearing, although it does not provide further detail about the questions involved. It also notes that Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio separately made a joking reference to Fauci’s Fifth Amendment plea at a press conference.
