Electroclash artist Peaches has released "No Lube So Rude," her first album in roughly a decade, marking a significant return following her "Teachers of Peaches" anniversary tour. In an interview with Kyle Meredith, the musician discusses how the album engages with themes of menopause, ageing, sexuality, and human rights, representing a philosophical shift from her earlier provocative stance. Rather than viewing the world in terms of opposition, Peaches now emphasises understanding and collective struggle, with the album exploring what emerges after confrontation rather than the confrontation itself.

The album features the opening track "Hanging Titties," which destigmatises menopause and ageing through bold, sexual expression, alongside "You're Alright," which features Russian drag performer Gena Marvin and addresses themes of oppression and expression. The project includes collaborations such as a Pixel Grip remix featuring Joe Talbot of IDLES, and showcases redesigned opera costumes for Peaches' upcoming tour dates. After 26 years of making music, Peaches emphasises that her established fan base can now grow with her rather than view her work purely as nostalgia.
