Peacock has released a first-look image and set a premiere date of 23 November for its new comedy series "Dig", starring Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie. The 10-episode show marks a notable reunion for Poehler and co-creator Mike Schur, working together for the first time since "Parks and Recreation" ended in 2015, and represents Poehler's first series acting role in several years alongside her executive producing duties.

Based on the novel "Excavations" by Kate Myers, "Dig" follows a team of archaeologists and student helpers spending a summer at a dig site in Greece, where the discovery of a rare artefact sparks an unexpected adventure. Poehler plays lead archaeologist Elise, while Laurie portrays Neville, a British professor determined to preserve traditional archaeological methods. They are joined by series regulars Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas and Fina Strazza, plus guest stars including Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy. The series is co-run by Schur and J.J. Philbin for Universal Television, with production companies including Fremulon, Paper Kite, Duck Duck Films, Dunshire, 3 Arts and Ocean Avenue.
