*Farewell to Seasons*, co-written with Mark Sable and illustrated by Sebastián Piriz for Z2 Comics, is described by McCready as "historical fiction" charting Seattle's music scene from 1985 to 1995, drawing on his own experience of the era. The book blends a gritty account of the city before the grunge boom with fantasy elements he compares to Shakespeare's *A Midsummer Night's Dream*, exploring the personal cost of artistic ambition. McCready, a self-confessed Spider-Man comic collector, also spoke about his guitar collection, past instrument swaps with musicians such as Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, his work with director Cameron Crowe, and unreleased material in Pearl Jam's archive.
