Persona producer says remakes of first two games are needed
Developing story first seen 1 hour ago
Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada has said he personally believes Atlus "has to do" remakes of Persona 1 and 2, the franchise's most overlooked instalments, though he stopped short of confirming any such projects are currently in development. The comments matter because they signal, for the first time from series leadership, an explicit acknowledgement that the earliest games deserve the same modern treatment recent entries have received.
Atlus is currently focused on Persona 4 Revival, due in early 2027, which Wada has described as holding particular significance within the wider franchise. By contrast, the original PlayStation-era Persona titles remain largely unmodernised, a gap made more conspicuous by the substantial recent investment in refreshing newer games and their spin-offs.
