## Key points

- Jennifer Hegseth was paid for consulting by Trump-connected Watchtower Strategy.
- Lockheed Martin was a Watchtower client in 2025.
- Polls show corruption is a major concern for voters.

## Summary

Jennifer Hegseth, wife of Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, was reportedly paid for consulting work by Watchtower Strategy, a firm connected to President Trump. The arrangement has drawn scrutiny because Lockheed Martin, a Watchtower client in 2025, makes weapons and Jennifer is the daughter of a Lockheed executive.

The Pentagon said the couple comply with ethics laws and regulations. Watchtower said Jennifer helped it navigate conservative television media but had no contact with clients and gave no advice on defence matters. The report comes amid broader corruption allegations against the Trump administration; a Gallup survey found 89 per cent of Americans believe government corruption is widespread, while a late-October CNBC poll found 36 per cent named it the country’s most important issue.
