- It ranked second among the year’s single-player games on Steam.
- Critics praised its cinematic action, while some found combat too easy.

## Summary

Phantom Blade Zero drew about 680,000 active players on Steam within hours of its 29 October release, quickly becoming one of the platform’s most-played single-player games this year. Its strong debut follows positive reviews, with critics praising its cinematic martial-arts action and an average Metacritic score of 88.

The game topped Steam’s Popular New Releases and Top Sellers charts, and ranked second among the year’s single-player games by player count, behind Palworld. Its combat has been criticised as sometimes too easy for a soulslike, though that may broaden its appeal; console player figures are not available. It is available digitally on Steam, the Epic Games Store and PS5, with a PS5 physical edition planned for 2027.
