## Key points

- Collins expects an awkward Oasis meeting at the Rock Hall
- He responded lightly to Noel Gallagher’s old insults
- Both acts join the 2026 Hall of Fame class

## Summary

Phil Collins has said it will be “interesting” to cross paths with Oasis at the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, where both are due to be inducted despite a long-running war of words between him and Noel Gallagher. The comments matter because they bring Collins’ own, measured response into a feud that has simmered for years, adding fresh attention just as both acts are being recognised at one of music’s highest-profile events.

Speaking to MOJO, Collins said the inductees had been invited to a pre-ceremony lunch where he was likely to meet Oasis, and suggested Noel’s old “antichrist” remark may have been inspired by Genesis performing ‘Mama’ in the 1980s. Noel had previously called Collins “the antichrist of music” and mocked him in other interviews, while Collins later dismissed Oasis as rude and less talented than they believed. The 2026 class includes Oasis, Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan; it is also a record year for British acts, with six inductees, and marks Collins’ first solo nomination after his 2010 induction with Genesis.
