- Sheffield United beat them 1-0.
- Parkinson faces pressure ahead of two tough fixtures.

## Summary

Wrexham’s 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United has intensified questions about manager Phil Parkinson’s future, with the article arguing that his position is increasingly at risk. The loss continued a poor start to the Championship campaign, raising concerns about whether the team is meeting the club’s ambitions after several years of rapid progress.

Wrexham have won three of their first 13 league matches, despite spending about £31.5 million on signings in the most recent transfer window. The article cites low attacking figures, including 14.2 expected goals and 3.3 shots on target per match, and says Wrexham were outperformed by Sheffield United in the defeat. Parkinson acknowledged shortcomings in the team’s intensity and consistency; Wrexham’s next matches are against Middlesbrough and Wolves.
