Phoebe Bridgers joined around 200 fans at a roller-skating listening party in Glendale, California, ahead of the release of her third album, ‘Lost Weekend’. The event paired the album’s slow, emotionally heavy songs with skating, reflecting Bridgers’ wish to create an unusual, in-person experience rather than a primarily online promotion.
The album was released on 14 August, following the Moonlight Rollerway event on 11 August, where Bridgers also answered questions about its title and inspirations. She said it referenced the film ‘The Lost Weekend’, about alcoholism, and previewed a near-finished video for ‘I Can’t Wait’; she has also announced phone-free UK shows and a wider tour beginning in North America next month, with UK and Ireland arena dates later in the year.

Phoebe Bridgers is a US singer-songwriter known for quiet, often darkly humorous indie rock songs about relationships, loss and mental health. She first gained wide attention with her 2017 debut album Stranger in the Alps and later formed the group boygenius with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.
Lost Weekend is Bridgers’ third solo album, following 2020’s Punisher, which brought her a larger international audience and several Grammy nominations. The title refers to Billy Wilder’s 1945 film The Lost Weekend, whose central character struggles with alcoholism.
