## Key points

- Rain flooded about 70,000 tents in Gaza.
- Displaced families fled camps in several areas.
- Civil Defence reported over 1,500 calls for help.

## Summary

Heavy rain has flooded tents housing displaced people across Gaza, leaving many without shelter. The flooding has forced families to flee camps in northern and central areas and exposed the vulnerability of people living in makeshift accommodation.

Gaza authorities said about 70,000 tents were flooded on the first day of rain, affecting tens of thousands of displaced people. They also reported injuries, some critical, after cracked walls and roofs collapsed. Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal said teams received more than 1,500 requests for help overnight but were operating without equipment, and appealed to international and humanitarian organisations for urgent assistance.
