Actress Hayden Panettiere was honoured at a memorial ceremony held at Malibu Pacific Church on Saturday, where approximately 150 guests gathered to celebrate her life and legacy. The celebration of life was attended by several of her former Nashville co-stars, including Connie Britton, Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio, along with other friends and entertainment industry figures such as Ruby Rose and Beverly D'Angelo. The event proved to be an emotional occasion, with speeches delivered, a song from the television series Nashville performed, and doves released as a symbolic gesture.

The gathering began at around 5pm with guests enjoying food outside the church before moving inside at approximately 5:30pm for the formal ceremony. Panettiere's father Skip attended the memorial, whilst her mother Leslie Vogel, from whom the actress was estranged, reportedly could not attend owing to a family emergency. Panettiere died one month prior at age 36 following cardiac arrest, which occurred after a suspected opioid overdose whilst she was staying at an Airbnb in South Carolina with her on-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson. Narcan, a nasal spray used to reverse opioid overdose effects, was discovered at the scene, and the autopsy confirmed no signs of trauma.
