## Summary

Fourteen pigs escaped onto the A127 near Dunton, causing the road to close; five were shot at the scene for safety reasons. Donations have helped save eight others from slaughter, drawing attention to the challenges of finding safe homes for animals after an escape.

Abigail was found in a resident’s garden and taken to Tower Hill Stables, which agreed to take in seven more pigs. A local fundraiser raised £6,000 for their care, and three pigs have been reunited with their mother. The sanctuary looks after 400 animals and says it spends £25,000 a month on food.
