## Summary

Pink Floyd is marking 50 years since *Animals* with a new edition due on 22 January. The release brings together rare and previously unheard recordings, archival material and a 1977 concert, offering fans a fuller picture of how the album was made.

The deluxe box set includes the original album, James Guthrie’s 2018 remix and five rarities, among them Roger Waters’ unheard track “Young Nicholas Jon” and early versions of “Sheep” and “Dogs”. It also contains a two-disc recording of a 1977 show, a Blu-ray with the remix in 5.1 and Dolby Atmos, and a 64-page book with new notes, an interview and previously unpublished photographs. David Gilmour described the record as more aggressive and stripped back than *Wish You Were Here*, while Nick Mason recalled differences emerging within the band.
