## Key points

- Jim Morris is moving to President Emeritus after 12 years leading Pixar.
- Jonathan Garson will oversee Pixar’s production and operations.
- Morris will remain an executive producer on *Incredibles 3*.

## Summary

Jim Morris will step down from the day-to-day presidency of Pixar after 12 years and become President Emeritus, with Jonathan Garson named as his successor. The change sets up a leadership handover at the Disney animation studio while Pete Docter remains Chief Creative Officer and continues to lead its creative direction.

Garson will oversee Pixar’s production and operations, working with Docter; Jonas Rivera will take on an expanded creative executive role focused on filmmakers and development. Morris, who joined Pixar in 2005, will mentor talent, work on special projects and remain an executive producer on *Incredibles 3*, due in cinemas on 16 June 2028. Pixar films have earned more than $12 billion worldwide during his tenure, and the article says his transition was planned rather than part of Disney’s workforce cuts.
