Podcaster and reality TV star James English guilty of domestic abuse

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

Scottish podcaster and reality TV star James English has been found guilty of a domestic abuse campaign against his former partner following a 12-day trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court. The 43-year-old, best known for starring in reality show Glow and hosting the popular Anything Goes podcast, repeatedly attacked the 30-year-old woman, including while she was pregnant, in incidents at his Glasgow flat and elsewhere between July 2022 and November 2023.

Sheriff David Hall found six of the 19 allegations within the single abusive-behaviour charge proven, after one had been withdrawn by the Crown mid-trial. The proven incidents included English grabbing the woman by the neck and pinning her against a door, kicking her off a bed, pulling her hair, pressing his thumbs into her eyebrows and slapping her face, alongside sending threatening and abusive messages. English, now of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, was excused from attending the verdict as he was reportedly out of the country, while his defence had argued the Crown's case fell short of proof beyond reasonable doubt.

  • Podcaster James English convicted of domestic abuse against ex-partner.
  • Court found six of 19 alleged incidents proven over 2022-2023.
