An engineering director at Pokémon Company International was arrested in July 2026 following investigations into a series of concealed surveillance cameras. Ben Tsai installed hidden recording devices in bathrooms at the company's Bellevue offices, a Starbucks, grocery stores, and other venues to record individuals without their knowledge. Authorities located 89 recordings made specifically within the Pokémon offices showing people at various stages of undress, plus hundreds of additional videos from other locations.

Tsai faces charges of first-degree voyeurism and possession of child sexual abuse material, and is being held on $500,000 bail whilst asserting plans to plead not guilty. The Pokémon Company International now faces a class action lawsuit from an anonymous former employee alleging the company neglected to adequately supervise Tsai, train staff on workplace safety measures, or shield workers from such conduct. The suit also claims violations of Washington state anti-discrimination protections.
