A previously unreleased Van Halen demo recording, "Glitter," is set to be officially released for the first time as a 7" picture disc, bundled with a limited-edition anthology book written by drummer Alex Van Halen. Recorded in 1974 with the band's original bassist Mark Stone, it is the earliest Van Halen recording to receive an official release, offering fans access to material long circulated only as a bootleg. The package forms part of a lavish collector's edition publication, reflecting continued commercial interest in the band's early history following Alex Van Halen's 2024 memoir, Brothers.

Publisher Genesis Publications will produce 1,500 copies of the book in November, with the already sold-out 350-copy Deluxe boxed set giving way to a 1,150-copy Collector edition priced at £345 ($525). Each Collector copy is bound in black vegan leather with silver detailing, housed in a clamshell box, and personally signed by Alex Van Halen; it also includes a keychain, replica Eddie Van Halen guitar picks and postcards. The Glitter disc features spoken-word interview excerpts on its B-side, while the track itself was originally recorded at the Pasadena home of David Lee Roth's father and previously surfaced only via bootlegs and a 1998 release on Roth's website.
