Prime Video has unveiled Blade Runner 2099, a new eight-part cyberpunk science-fiction series set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049. The show expands Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner universe by reversing its original power dynamic: Replicants now dominate Earth while organic humans are rare and oppressed.

Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen, a Replicant approaching the end of her programmed lifespan, while Hunter Schafer plays Cora, who is secretly human. The trailer returns to futuristic Los Angeles and its flying police vehicles, with Olwen and Cora forced to work together amid threats in the Replicant-controlled city; all episodes are due on Prime Video on 25 November.
