Prime Video has cast the lead roles for its upcoming romance drama "Rose Hill," based on Elsie Silver's bestselling small-town romance book series. The announcement, made on Monday, marks a key step forward for the adaptation, which is set in a Canadian mountain town and centres on the romantic entanglements of a group of friends. This casting news matters as it brings the popular book series closer to screen, giving fans their first look at who will embody its central characters.

Jake Weary ("The Waterfront," "Animal Kingdom") will play rancher West Belmont, alongside newcomer Sean O'Pry as brooding record label owner Ford Grant. Hannah Galway ("The Altruists") takes on the role of Rose Belmont, West's sister and Ford's love interest, while theatre actor Sadie Dickerson rounds out the cast as country-pop star Skylar Stone. The series is based on four of Silver's novels ("Wild Love," "Wild Eyes," "Wild Side" and "Wild Card"), with Heidi Cole McAdams serving as writer, showrunner and executive producer, and Marc Webb directing the pilot and second episode.
