Prime Video Sets Plan To Invest $2 Billion In Latin America

Prime Video has announced plans to invest more than $2 billion in Latin America between 2027 and 2030, covering original programming, licensed content and live sports rights. The plan, unveiled at a showcase event in Mexico City, underscores Amazon's growing focus on the region's audiences and talent as streamers compete for market share across Latin America.

The investment spans Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile, and Prime Video aims to double the number of local original productions across these countries compared with 2026. Twenty-five new titles for 2027 were unveiled, including La Oficina Season 2, Menem Season 2 and Florence Cassez, while on the sports side Prime Video will become the new broadcast home of the Mexico national football team from 26 September, streaming 38 home matches over four years.
