- The story shifts to the Canary Islands.

## Summary

*Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End* has become Prime Video’s number-one film after its sequel, *Apocalypse Z: The New World*, debuted on the service. The Spanish post-apocalyptic thriller displaced Sacha Baron Cohen’s *Ali G: Who Iz I?* from the top spot in both US and worldwide viewing charts.

The original film, released in 2024, followed a man trying to reunite with his family after a zombie outbreak in Spain and gained popularity through word of mouth. The sequel moves the story to the Canary Islands, described as humanity’s last refuge, and arrived on Prime Video two days after *Ali G: Who Iz I?*, which began streaming on 28 October.
