## Key points

- *Stargate Origins* is streaming on Prime Video.
- The 10 short episodes total about 100 minutes.
- A feature-length re-edit is also available.

## Summary

*Stargate Origins*, a prequel to the 1994 film, is available on Prime Video and offers fans another way to revisit the franchise while a new series is in development. Set in 1938, it follows Catherine Langford as she travels through the Stargate to rescue her father from a Nazi occultist.

The miniseries has 10 episodes of about 10 minutes each, totalling roughly 100 minutes, and was later re-edited as the feature-length *Stargate Origins: Catherine*. It includes references and links to the original film, but its low budget, uneven performances and unusual character choices may disappoint viewers expecting the quality of *Stargate SG-1* or its spin-offs.
